Nestled in the charming village of Port d'Agres, Hotel Du Pont is a delightful family-run restaurant that offers an authentic taste of traditional French home cooking. From the moment you step inside, you’re met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complements the hearty, lovingly prepared meals served here.
The restaurant is known for its classic, down-to-earth cuisine that feels like a lovingly prepared home meal. Guests often praise the excellent homemade bread, a tempting start that sets the stage for the flavors to come. Popular dishes include the rich and comforting pork chop paired with creamy potato gratin, and fresh trout served with subtly spiced rice à la Madras—each plate a testament to the kitchen’s dedication to quality and tradition.
Daily menus are a highlight here, and at just around €15, they provide exceptional value without compromising on generosity or taste. Four-course meals feature well-balanced portions that never feel excessive but leave you fully satisfied, from fresh salads and classic onion soup to delectable desserts like the almond pastry “du pont” pie or a honey-drizzled rice pudding. The recipes clearly have been passed down and perfected over time, evoking the warmth and comfort of a French countryside kitchen.
But what truly makes Hotel Du Pont stand out is its genuine hospitality. Multiple reviews highlight how the family’s attentiveness creates a relaxed and friendly environment, whether welcoming late visitors after hours or patiently explaining local specialties. The daughter who serves the room adds a genuine smile and a personal touch, making every guest feel right at home. Motorcyclists, cyclists, families, and travelers alike find themselves returning again and again, drawn not only by the food but by the sincere, unpretentious vibe.
Imagine savoring a perfectly poached egg salad with fresh figs and local cheese after a day of cycling, or tucking into a hearty worker’s lunch that tastes like it was made to comfort and energize. The combination of excellent flavors, fair prices, and heartfelt service creates an experience that resonates long after the last bite.
If you’re in the Saint-Parthem area and seek a culinary stop that offers more than just a meal, Hotel Du Pont is an unmissable gem. Prepare for a genuine taste of French “bonne franquette” hospitality that warms the soul as much as the palate.

First visit to this Family run restaurant the waitress (daughter) was very welcoming and the service excellent and surprisingly quick given there were a least 60/70 dinners. The food was good @15 euros for a menu du jour. we will definitely returning

We visited this place several times at lunchtime when they offer a 4 course meal for EUR 15. Really excellent food and very fast and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Friendly service and delicious homemade food at a very fair price! (€12.50). They serve only daily menu's (which is perfect for me I never know what to chose ;-)). Todays menu: starters; salad (salade gesiers) or point or pizza maison, main plate; pork chop with potato gratin or fresh trout with rice a la madras and desert: 'du pont' pie (delicious almond pastry) or rice pie with hot honey saus. Would recommend!

We arrived late afternoon after a hard days cycling and even though the kitchen had been closed they served us, with charm and friendliness a lovely poached egg salad with fresh figs and local cheese and then the most wonderul plum pudding. Washed down with a good local beer. About half an hour after leaving for our accomodations in the hamlet half a km away the owner appeared with my rain jacket that I'd left on the back of my chair. Unbelievable. We'll be back this morning for coffee and mire plum pudding to set us up for today's ride.

Bonne continuation. Merci beaucoup
